The Sunday Salon: Just One

It seems I don’t have the best luck at the moment. I have been ill with a bad flu for about 13 days and counting, and my visitors have been here for 9 days and counting! Luckily in my more lucid moments I have managed to show them around, and you can check out their trip blog here.

So this week’s reading has been:

* The Carlyles by Cecily von Ziegesar

That’s right, just one book. I’ve been too sick to read, even. In my more lucid moments I’ve managed to fit in a few pages, but I haven’t made any big indent in the books on my nightstand.  To be fair, I didn’t expect to read a lot while I have visitors staying, but I definitely didn’t anticipate being so sick.

I’m now reading Myth Directions by Robert Asprin, which is a comic fantasy read. Comic fantasy is one of my favorite genres, and one that I consider a comfort read. It’s been fun to pick it up, while I’m not feeling well and enjoy a few laughs.

So readers, what kind of books do you read when you’re sick?

I hope you feel better soon! I will read pretty much anything but non-fiction when I’m sick. :)

It’s funny…I remember reading Robert Asprin when I was a kid (completely forgotten until I saw your mention of Myth Directions!!). I got into reading fantasy at that time because I had come down with a really bad case of Chicken Pox. My mother brought home A Dragon on a Pedestal by Piers Anthony. I was hooked from there on out…

Hope you are on the mend and starting to feel better!

I can tell I’m not well when I don’t feel like reading.

      Hope you feel better soon.

Aww-that’s too hard being sick and having visitors! I tend to turn to mysteries, classics, and rereads, all by my fave authors. :)
