The Sunday Salon: Getting Ahead
To learn more about The Sunday Salon click here.
It’s Wednesday today, and I’m scheduling ahead my Sunday Salon. post Why you ask? I have visitors arriving tomorrow, Thursday, from Australia. They are my best friend, that I grew up with, and her husband, and so I know I will be in the middle of site-seeing, going to ice hockey and generally having a lot of fun. Far too busy to actually post a Sunday Salon post on Sunday. Hence the scheduling.
So this week’s reading has been:
1. Searching for Pemberley by Mary Lydon Simonsen,
2. Poppy Done to Death by Charlaine Harris,
3. Pretty Little Devils by Nancy Holder,
4. Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident by Eoin Colfer
So I’m not going to be around A Bibliophile’s Bookshelf too much in the next 10 days, but I have some posts scheduled, at least for this week. There will be plenty of photos of my visitors enjoying their trip during my next Sunday Salon post.
I’m pleased to report that I’ve finished my November Mini-Challenge, where I was reading the Aurora Teagarden series. I’ve now read all eight books. It doesn’t look like Charlaine Harris is going to publish any more books in this series, but I’m looking forward to reading her other series, such as the Lily Bard and Harper Connelly series.
Now that I’ve put the Aurora Teagarden series to bed, I’m digging into the mischief of Artemis Fowl.
Readers, are you reading any series at the moment? Any recommendations for future series reading for me? I have December all decided, but recommendations for January are welcome.

I recommend the the Raine Benares series by Lisa Shearin (1. Magic Lost, Trouble Found, 2. Armed & Magical, 3. The Trouble with Demons), but that’s probably predictable from me. How about Melissa Marr’s Wicked Lovely series (1. Wicked Lovely, 2. Ink Exchange, 3. Fragile Eternity)? OR (!!) Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series (1. Halfway to the Grave, 2. One Foot in the Grave, 3. At Grave’s End, 4. Destined for an Early Grave – the latter of which I’m yet to read)? I love all these authors! You might do too :)
Well have a great time with you friends! I have an award for you when you get a chance.

I feel like I am always reading a book in one series or another these days! Some of my favorites are The Hollows books by Kim Harrison, The Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong, The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, and all of the Shannara books by Terry Brooks.
Have fun with your visitors. My cousin spent a semester in Australia when she was in college and I was totally jealous. I would love to visit there some time.
